Why this exists
I'm keeping the first cohort small on purpose — no more than 15 people. A cohort this size lives or dies on who's in the room: the questions asked in live sessions, the work shared mid-week, the honesty of the feedback.
Some of the practitioners I most want in that room — people doing real gender and development work, often early in their consulting practice or working in places where a dollar-priced course is a serious expense — are exactly the people a fee excludes. These five seats remove the fee entirely. Not as a discount, and not as a marketing lever: as a straightforward trade. You bring the practice, the questions, and the commitment; the seat is paid for.
Paid for by someone. Every cohort is supported by generous individual sponsors — people who put their own money behind seats so that a fee isn't what decides who's in the room. Some are glad to be named; several would rather not be, and that preference is always respected.
What the seat covers
A full seat in the Q4 2026 Cohort at the current $495 rate. That means:
- All three levels of the program — 38 lessons, including the three short level orientations; Unit 0 is separate. The path runs from AI foundations through applying the G.A.I.N.S method (Gender-informed Analysis for Inclusive and Sustainable Business) to your own consulting practice.
- The Q4 2026 Cohort’s live-session schedule, confirmed when the cohort calendar is announced
- The capstone project: you automate one real workflow from your own work, measure it, and revise it if needed
- The cohort community, which stays open after the cohort ends
You pay nothing. There is no partial fee and no future obligation to buy anything. The same approved learning route and completion review apply to every full-program participant.
Who should apply
A fully-paid seat is for you if all three of these are true:
- You work in, or are seriously entering, gender / social-inclusion / development practice. Consultant, program officer, researcher, in-house specialist — the label matters less than the reality that this is your work.
- The fee is a genuine barrier. Not an inconvenience — a barrier. You won't be asked for financial documents; you will be asked to describe your situation honestly, and I take you at your word.
- You can commit to the announced cohort schedule. The seat trades money for engagement, so the engagement part is real (details below).
If the fee is not a barrier for you, please enroll at the current program rate instead — you'd be taking a seat from someone who needs it, and these five paid-for seats are the only ones that exist.
What we ask in return
I want to be plain about this before you apply, because a fully-paid seat is a commitment, not a giveaway:
- Participate: engage in the cohort learning and feedback activities; any required live activity must have an accessible asynchronous equivalent
- Finish: complete the approved learning route, including any capstone revision and the exit integration/reflection check
- Tell me the truth: three short structured feedback check-ins at points confirmed with the cohort schedule
- If it earned it, say so: a testimonial — only if you're genuinely satisfied; an honest "this wasn't for me" is an acceptable outcome
- Pass it on: a light mentoring presence in Cohort 2 — welcoming the next group, sharing what worked for you
If you read that list and felt tired, this isn't the right fit — and that's fine. If you read it and thought "that's just being a good cohort member," you're exactly who it's for.
How selection works
- Five seats, reviewed and decided by me personally. No automated screening, no scoring algorithm.
- I read for three things: fit (is this genuinely your field), need (is the fee truly the barrier), and what you'd bring to the room (the Q4 2026 Cohort is small enough that every seat shapes it).
- Shortlisted applicants get a short conversation — 15 minutes with me, online. It isn't a test and you don't defend your application: we talk through fit, the commitments, and the workflow you'd want to build in the capstone. Final decisions follow these conversations.
- Applying is not enrollment. Submitting the form doesn't reserve a seat, and it doesn't create any obligation on either side until a seat is offered and accepted.
- Decisions are announced by email, and the Q4 2026 Cohort starts shortly after — both dates go up with the cohort calendar.
If you're not selected
Two honest options, no pressure attached:
- The current $495 program rate remains available while the 15 seats are open.
- If you are not offered a seat in the Q4 2026 Cohort, you may choose to have your application considered again when a future funded-seat round opens.
Short FAQ
Is this a discount or a "scholarship code"?
No. It's a fully-paid seat — five of them, application-based and human-decided. There is no code, and applying does not change the program's published rate.
Who pays for the seat?
Individual sponsors do. Every cohort is supported by people who fund seats out of their own pocket; some are happy to be named, several prefer not to be. You are never asked to thank a sponsor publicly, and no sponsor sees your application.
Will anyone know my seat was paid for?
Not unless you choose to say so. Inside the cohort, everyone is simply a participant.
Can organizations apply on behalf of someone?
No — individuals apply for themselves. If your organization wants to sponsor seats, that's a different (paid) lane: organization seats.
I can pay something, just not the full fee. Should I still apply?
For the Q4 2026 Cohort, these seats are fully paid. If you can pay part of the fee but not all of it, apply and explain that in the form; any available option will be discussed before an offer is made.
What language is the program in?
The Q4 2026 Cohort runs in English. Arabic is native to this program's DNA — an Arabic edition is planned, and your application can tell us which language you'd choose.
